In my opinion, music is one of the most important parts of any modern game. Without good music it is very difficult to try to knock real emotions out of the player. Music helps you fully understand the plot and characters. Music creates a psychological and emotional connection with the player.
Lately there has been more and more different music in games. And so I decided to talk about the best soundtracks in games. And since there are a lot of games with cool soundtracks. I will talk about games that were released not so long ago (one or two years ago).
PS: List in random order
PPS: You can forget about the text and enjoy the musicPPPS: I apologize for the large amount of the word “music”
The Last of Us Left Behind
Naughty Dog left many games behind (in terms of soundtrack and more) back in 2013 with “Tha Last of Us.”. And in 2014, the “Left Behind” add-on was released, which continued this trend. And just like in the main game, in addition, music plays a huge role. Every guitar melody and every note matters. I didn’t think I would ever feel such emotions for characters through music. And the music lets you know that games are more than just blood and violence.
Civilization Beyond Earth
Personally, I didn’t really like Civilization: https://mindepositcasino.co.uk/mega-moolah-slot/ Beyond Earth, because I prefer realistic Civilization, and space is not my thing.
But what cannot be taken away from this civilization is music. When you hear the soundtrack, you truly feel like a colonizer who has flown away to look for a new home for humanity. And I can’t say anything more than thank you to Jeff Knorr.
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter
It’s possible that many of you haven’t played this game. But you should give it a chance, because it is simply an incredibly beautiful indie quest, with amazing music that fits very well with the game. And in my opinion, without music the game would be much worse than it is.
Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag
AC: Black Flag became my favorite part after AC2. And this is largely due to the soundtrack. But I’m not talking about ordinary melodies, but about pirate songs that have sunk into my soul for a very long time. It is thanks to these songs that Black Flag has such an incredible atmosphere, imbued with the spirit of piracy.
Infamous: Second Son
This is a very good exclusive on PS4. This game has a good story and interesting gameplay. And all this is complemented by gorgeous music. She perfectly conveys the emotions of the characters and their internal struggles.
Valiant Hearts
Valiant Hearts was one of the most moving games last year. This game has a very touching plot, which is fully revealed thanks to its soundtrack. The music is so well done that I just couldn’t hold back my tears at some points. Valiant Hearts is a game where music plays not just a secondary role, but almost the main one.
The Evil Within
The opinions of people who played The Evil Within are very different. Some people think she’s scary, others not so much. But no matter what it is to you, you can’t deny that the game’s music is awesome. But at the same time, it walks the line between meaningless repetitions of strange sounds and a truly frightening melody, like in Silent Hill.
Wolfenstein: The New Order
Wolfenstein: The New Order is the reboot of Wolfenstein that we’ve all come to expect with excellent gunplay. And we waited for them. But the plot was also very interesting. And the music was even more impressive. But most of all, like in AC: Black Flag, I liked the songs that for some reason were not included in the soundtrack. These are songs of famous performers, remade in a fascist way.
Sunset Overdrive
It’s quite hard to describe the Sunset Overdrive soundtrack in words. To understand him you need to listen to him, namely, in the game.
While you kill robots and zombies, punk music plays in the background, which inspires you to go forward and kill more enemies.
