Hello everyone, you are on blogs, on stopgame.ru and this is the 2nd part of the History of the Hatsune Miku series – Project Diva! Today we take a look at the second part of one of the best rhythm games ever, released for the platform PSP (And not only for her): Hatsune Miku – Project Diva 2nd. Enjoy! \(*o*)/
. WARNING. THIS ARTICLE HAS A HUGE NUMBER OF DIFFERENT VIDEOS.
Unfortunately, if you have a weak PC/Tablet/Phone, you may have difficulty viewing the article.
Frankly, I didn’t expect such attention to the first part of the Project Diva IP, much less that it would receive the title “Blog of the Week,” but since this happened, then we can’t slow down and lower the quality! Many thanks to everyone who supported or commented on the last part, it was very nice to see your feedback ♥.
_________________________Hatsune Miku – Project Diva 2nd___________________________
Launch Hatsune Miku – Project Diva on PSP was very successful. The Japanese (and not only them) happily bought the game and various thematic bundles.
By April 2010, there were approximately 181,839 copies sold (Excluding PSN). And for a new IP released in one country, this was a pretty good result.
Time is slowly passing, DLCs are being released, and people are wondering: “Will there be a sequel??"…
And in April 2010 (Just a year after the release of the first part), SEGA showing everyone the debut trailer"Hatsune Miku – Project Diva 2nd"
So this is who Bethesda stole the idea from to announce the game a few months before its release!
Fans were eagerly awaiting new details and announcements, and of course SEGA I couldn’t help but please them, so I regularly released different videos.
And, as is customary in Japan, any self-respecting studio should demonstrate its game in a gaming magazine Famitsu.
But let’s not focus only on the announcement (Otherwise I got carried away). Let’s see what exactly the Japanese got for their PSP in the second part of the game about Vocaloids!
Oh those beautiful blue eyes ヽ(♡‿♡)ノ
And then there will be small difficulties. After all, roughly speaking, essentially nothing has changed, our task is still the same, to press the buttons in time and enjoy the clip in the background.
But don’t judge a book by its cover, it’s all in the details! (For some reason in my head it sounded like Fen’s voice. )
The first and most striking detail is the appearance of more than one Vocaloid in the video. Now Vocaloids could perform duets, which greatly increased the number of songs and beautiful clips in the game.
Also finally SEGA decided to shift all attention from Miku to other Vocaloids. That is, if in the first part 80% of the songs were performed by Hatsune, now only 65% of all songs belong to Miku, the remaining 35% were shared by duets and other vocaloids. (Rough calculations)
But these are all lyrics, what has changed for the player??
1) Added a new type of notes – Arrows.
This is a note, as the name suggests, in the shape of an arrow.
To count this type of note as pressed, it was necessary to hold down the button on the cross and its mirror image on the pad, which was quite problematic during fast songs (Good SEGA I thought about which songs should be inserted into)
Didn’t understand? No problem! Here are some pictures for you.
2) Training and “Finnish polka”.
For beginners we decided to add a training mode. In it you will be taught all the intricacies of the Diva and its basics, but be careful, even in it you can lose! :D.
In the background, the nendroid Miku is waving a leek (the closest Asian relative of the leek or simply “negi”) and everyone’s favorite Finnish polka (Levan Polkka) is playing.
Chibi is better and cuter, isn’t it??)
3) The interface has been slightly updated and improved.
The most noticeable improvement is that now the result of the click is displayed directly at the place where the button was pressed, and not at the edge of the screen. This is very convenient if you monitor your results.
Hope StopGame won’t sue me for copyright :D
You can see other interface changes here –
4) New difficulty mode – Extreme
If you remember, the first Project Diva had 3 difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, Hard. And about Hard I wrote:
– Pain… Suffering. “Burning fart”… and many other epithets. People who play on this difficulty are probably superheroes… All buttons are used (◯, ✕, △, ▢). The number of “flying notes” is huge… I don’t know what kind of reaction is needed to play at this difficulty level… The time period is minimal… Yes, there is none at all!
Forget it… I was wrong… *deafening silence* (Felt an atmosphere of hopelessness?)
How can we describe this complexity?? All possible notes and combinations are simply thrown at you, without much logic or meaning, and you have to press them as quickly as possible. This difficulty does not bring any new gaming experience, but simply a more complicated version Hard, to test your “Skill” and ignite your “fart” (I would like Normal learn to play normally. )
Here are two video examples:
5) Shop and “DIVA points”.
There is now a store in PD. In it you can buy any costume unlocked after completing songs, furniture for rooms, the rooms themselves and “helper” items. To buy all this stuff they use DIVA Points (DP for short) which you get when you beat a song. The amount of DP awarded is based on the rating you receive and the number of points you receive while completing the song.
Purchasing modules (suits):
Purchasing interior parts:
What you can buy to decorate your rooms:
These are bonuses that make it easier to complete songs. All these “helpers” are disposable and can be bought in a store (see.higher).
Each of the bonuses has its own unique function, but with some of them you may not count on high ranks. SEGA provided that high results and ranks were not obtained readers users of more bonuses, and nerds players who spent their invaluable time on the game.
Assist System – Changes all results S.A.D And WORST on SAFE, but the final score automatically becomes – CHEAP
Combo Support System — Changes 3 SAFE and/or S.A.D on FINE.
Combo Follow System — Changes 5 SAFE and/or S.A.D on FINE.
Combo Guard System — Changes 10 SAFE and/or S.A.D on FINE.
Rescue System — Fills in half “Right to make a mistake” scale if its level reaches zero.
Recovery System — Fully fills the “Right to make a mistake” scale if its level reaches zero.
CAREFULLY. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS WHEN USING “HELPERS” FREQUENTLY—
7) Relationships with Vocaloids.
Yes, yes, you read correctly, now you can build relationships with Vocaloids. There’s even a whole column dedicated to this in the menu.
How good a relationship you will have with a particular Vocaloid depends on how often you visit his Diva-room, and how often you give him gifts (Interior details are the only possible gift).
But don’t even hope for a love relationship, no sex scenes or hints, we have 12 here+. (Perverts (◕‿◕))
How do these “relationships” affect gameplay?? Oh, no way. True, I tried for a long time to understand what this affects, but I never found out… The maximum that changes is the pose in which the vocaloid stands (Main menu). So, if you pay little attention to them, you will find a vocaloid standing with his head down. (Sad picture (>_ <) )
If I’m still wrong, then write about it in a comment or in a personal message, preferably with evidence (Photo\Video).
9) Achievements and business card www.casino-zodiac.co.uk holder.
An attempt to add a little social element to the game in the form of in-game achievements (Achievements/Titles) and a business card holder. The business card holder can show your nickname, gender, favorite character, title you are proud of and some comment.
Why this was necessary is unclear. :)
Accuracy, Margin for Error, Evaluation, Chance Time.
Accuracy as before, it is assessed on a five-point system, it is also worth noting that the PSP began to respond better to the player’s clicks, which provided a more comfortable game and fewer situations such as: “WELL I PRESSED IT.”. WITH. »
— Completely missing the right moment of pressing is punishable by lowering the “Right to make a mistake” scale and a small number of points
— Pressing a button in an acceptable zone, but outside the zone where the press is counted (It’s difficult, though? :) ), nothing bad will happen from one such incorrect press, but a couple of presses with the result “SAD” are punishable by lowering the “Right to make a mistake” scale. But with "SAD", the player receives slightly more points compared to the result of "WORST".
— Pressing the button at an acceptable moment is an average option, it does not affect the scale in any way, and the number of points received is average.
— issued when a button is pressed at the right moment, but not exactly according to the button sketch. For getting the “FINE” result you get a little less points than for “COOL”, and also for getting “FINE” several times, you are rewarded by replenishing the “Right to Error” scale.
— the last and best result, 100% hit on the sketch, a couple of such results are rewarded with an increase in the “Right to make a mistake” scale and the highest number of points.
Ratings have undergone minor changes, if previously you could get one of these ranks: Missxtake, Cheap, Standard, Great, Perfect
— Missxtake – issued when you make a huge number of mistakes.
— Cheap – issued when you do not score the minimum required number of points (Which, by the way, is not a particular difficulty :D).
— Standard — issued if you score the minimum required number of points.
— Great – awarded when you reach the average number of points.
— Perfect – awarded when you have the highest score.
Now the developers decided to add one more rank – EXCELLENT.
This is the average result between Great And Perfect. The reason for introducing this assessment was that to obtain Perfect it was necessary to hold the combo from the very beginning of the song to its end (Receive only COOL And FINE per click)
Also, the score is no longer based on the number of points you received for the songs, now it depends on the number you received COOL And FINE results.
For example, to pass a song for evaluation Perfect, out of 520 notes, all must be COOL and FINE, if there is at least one SAFE, S.A.D or WORST, then the maximum rank you can count on is Excellent.
Well, I won’t torture you, scale "Right to make mistakes" And Chance time remained the same.
As before, the “Right to make a mistake” scale gave us the opportunity not to abandon the game at the very first song, but Chance time helped to earn extra points.
Variable — You can make mistakes, but no more than one or two .
Completed– — You don’t have to worry about a few omissions.
Low rate — Any error may become the last one (During this stage, the interface begins to alarm).
Promotion — Increasing the scale indicator (Beyond “COOL” and “FINE”)
Demotion — Decreasing the scale indicator (Beyond “WORST” and “SAD”)
This is where the changes and innovations in the gameplay end, now it’s time to move on to the most important thing that all games have – content!

Next…oh yeah…costumes. There are suits for every taste and color. From wonderful, beautiful and sexy outfits to manifestations of the Japanese mentality.
This costume was in the first part and migrated here… I don’t know how I could have missed this cutie :3
(Hatsune Miku – Nyanko)
Miku already looks very futuristic, but they decided to give her a more… cosmic look. Ladies and gentlemen… Meet.. Space Channel 39.
Why I liked these two costumes, I think there is no need to explain.
Miku – Butterfly And Luka – Flower!
